Floods in Kaziranga National Park, Assam, have claimed the lives of at least 131 wild animals, including six rhinos and 117 hog deer. Ninety-six animals have been rescued. Among those treated, 25 have succumbed, including hog deer, a swamp deer, a rhesus macaque, and an otter pup due to drowning and other causes.
