BJP Candidate Navneet Rana Sparks Controversy On ‘No Modi Wave’

On Monday, BJP Amravati candidate Navneet Rana asserted that there was no ‘Modi wave’ addressing party workers in her constituency. A viral video captured her remarks.

Rana said, and I’m quoting it, “We will have to fight this election as if it were a gram panchayat election. We will have to bring all the voters to the booth by noon and tell them to vote. Don’t remain under the illusion that there is a Modi wave.”
She added, “In the last elections, despite a Modi wave, I was elected as an Independent candidate.”

The Opposition NCP led by Sharad Pawar and the Shiv Sena swiftly supported her statement, affirming its accuracy.

Navneet Rana secured the Amravati seat in 2019 as an Independent candidate backed by the unified NCP. During this election, she was nominated by the BJP to fight from Amravati.

In response to her statement, NCP (SP) chief spokesperson Mahesh Tapase stated, “Rana’s remarks are factual. The BJP acknowledges the absence of a Modi wave. This is evident from BJPs efforts to enlist multiple Opposition leaders, even those previously accused of corruption, recognizing their election-winning potential.”

Tapase noted the BJP’s apprehension, reflected in their instructions to campaign in village council elections.

Sanjay Raut, a spokesperson for Shiv Sena (UBT), stated, “Don’t even think about the Modi wave. It’s a big question if Narendra Modi himself can win in his own area.”

Navneet Rana’s assertion that there is no ‘Modi wave’ has stirred political discourse, with both opposition parties, NCP and Shiv Sena, echoing her sentiments. As the election approaches, the debate over the influence of the Modi factor continues, raising questions about the BJP’s electoral strategy.

However, Navneet Rana issued a clarification on X by stating that the oppositions are putting false allegations on her by editing videos and posting it on social media. She further stated that no matter what she’ll always be supporting bjp.
