Yashwant Sinha had earlier in the day tweeted condemning the attitude of ED saying it humiliated political leaders, he said.

New Delhi: The counting of votes for the Presidential polls commenced at 11 am at Parliament House in New Delhi. The counting is likely to conclude by 4 pm. The NDA candidate Droupadi Murmu is leading the battle against the opposition’s Yashwant Sinha.

If elected Ms. Murumu will be the first tribal woman to be the President Of India.

According to a news report by News 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Ms. Murmu’s residence at Uma Shankar Dixit Marg in Delhi at about 2.30 pm.

Yashwant Sinha had earlier in the day tweeted condemning the attitude of ED saying it humiliated political leaders, he said, “I strongly condemn the attitude of ED to humiliate political leaders. The officers of ED shd have gone to her residence even if they had questions to ask of Sonia Gandhi.” Mr. Sinha was referring to Congress’s interim president’s appearance before the agency today.

Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi will appear before the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday in connection with a money laundering case (National Herald).

Mrs. Gandhi’s questioning was postponed earlier after she had tested positive for covid and had to be hospitalized, After getting discharged from the hospital in mid-June, she had sought more time to appear before the probe agency.
