Delhi Murder Case: Nikki Cancelled Goa Trip; Father Says Cops Told Him About Her Death

The father of Nikki Yadav, who was allegedly killed by his live-in partner Sahil Gehlot, said on Wednesday that he wasn’t aware of her daughter’s relationship with the accused and got to know about her murder when the Delhi Police contacted him, reported India Today. 

According to the latest update in the case, the victim was planning a trip to Goa on February 10 but canceled it after getting to know that Sahil was getting married to someone else.

The 22-year-old victim was allegedly killed by her live-in partner Sahil on February 10. He then stored her body in a fridge in a dhaba on the outskirts of Mitraon village in Najafgarh.

According to sources, the deceased, identified as Nikki Yadav, was strangled by her boyfriend, Sahil Gehlot (26), near Kashmiri Gate ISBT on the intervening night of February 9 and 10. The accused allegedly used the data cable of his mobile in his car to strangulate the woman.

“I got to know about my daughter’s murder only yesterday (Tuesday). I got a call from the police station. The cops called me to identify a body and that is how I got to know it was my daughter’s body. I want a death sentence for Sahil. I request the court to hang him till death,” said the victim’s father.

Nikki’s father added that she was doing English Honours from Galgotia University in Noida. “I never saw her in a disturbed state. She came home 15-20 days back and stayed with us for four days,” said the father of the victim. The victim will be cremated in her hometown in Haryana.
