Dolo 650 Manufactures Denies 1000 Cr Freebies Allegations

Dolo 650

Govindaraju further said that Dolo 650, like all other strengths of Paracetamol, is very much under price control.

Covid-19 superhero Dolo 650 manufacturers have denied the allegations of distributing freebies worth Rs 1,000 crore to doctors as consideration for prescribing the tablet. Jayaraj Govindaraju, Vice-President, communications at Pharmaceutical company Micro Labs Limited termed the allegations “baseless”.

“We have certainly not spent Rs 1,000 crore on Dolo 650 during the Covid year, as no company can spend that much amount on a brand that achieved a peak sale of about Rs 350 crore in the last year,” said Jayaraj Govindaraju, adding that the amount mentioned was the total marketing cost spend by the whole corporate for last several years cumulatively.”

Govindaraju further said that Dolo 650, like all other strengths of Paracetamol, is very much under price control.

“During the Covid-19 pandemic, it became all the more popular because it had become a front-line therapy to manage fever as per the treatment protocol,” Govindaraju added.

During an interaction with news channel India Today about the report of FIR filed against the company, Govindaraju clarified that there is no FIR. “However, there was a PIL by the Federation of Medical Sales Representative of India in the Supreme Court. If we are asked to provide any explanation, data we will be ready to provide”.

The PIL by the Federation of Medical and Sales Representatives Association of India has raised concerns about the control of drug formulations and prices of the medicines being sold in India.

The bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna after hearing submissions by Sanjay Parikh observed that it was a serious issue.

The court has directed the Center to file its response to the PIL.

The SDRF team Rushed to the spot in Dehradun where a cloudburst was reported by locals at 2:45 am today in Sarkhet village.

Mumbai:  In the early hours of this morning, a cloudburst occurred in the Raipur block of the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. Locals in the district’s Sarkhet village noticed the cloudburst at 2:45 a.m. After receiving information, the State Disaster Response Force, or SDRF team, sped to the area.

People who were stuck in the village were rescued by the SDRF team and others took shelter in a resort nearby.

“Due to the continuous torrential rains since yesterday, the Tamasa river flowing near the famous Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple in Dehradun has taken a formidable form. Due to this, the contact between Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Yoga Temple and Tapkeshwar Mahadev has been lost, and the pool has also been damaged. By the grace of God, there has been no loss of life or property,” said Acharya Bipin Joshi, the founder of the temple.
Flash floods were also caused by heavy rainfall this morning at the Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district.

The upward movement of devotees in the Mata Vaishno Devi temple was temporarily halted due to the severe rains and flash floods. Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were already  deployed, the situation is being monitored and no untoward incident has been reported so far.

A cloudburst that hit Amarnath’s holy cave location earlier in July caused a heavy water discharge in the “Nallah,” which lies next to the holy cave. As a result, the road to Amarnath was damaged, and the yatra was put on hold for a while.

The Indian Air Force also sent four Mi-17V5 and four Cheetal helicopters to the Amarnath shrine to assist in rescue and relief operations.

On June 29, the Yatra set out from Jammu under the strict security measures was put in place by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the army, and the local police.

The pilgrimage to the Amarnath shrine, a 3,880-meter-high cave temple is in the higher Himalayas, and is  conducted from the twin routes of Pahalgam and Baltal.
