During a campaign rally in Balotra, the Wayanad MP connected the term “panauti” (harbinger of bad luck) to Modi, implying his presence as a factor in India’s loss in the Cricket World Cup final in Ahmedabad.

Responding to Gandhi’s comments, the BJP strongly criticized him for using derogatory language against the Prime Minister and promptly approached the EC, urging swift action.
