ED Officer Nabbed For Alleged Rs 20 Lakh Bribe In Tamil Nadu

A member of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Ankit Tiwari, was apprehended for reportedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh from a government employee in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu.

The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption conducted the arrest and subsequently placed Tiwari in judicial custody until December 15. Following the arrest, the Dindigul district Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducted searches at the ED’s Madurai office and Tiwari’s residence.

Allegations suggest that Tiwari had been involved in extortion, accumulating bribes amounting to crores, which were purportedly distributed to other ED officials.
