Eknath Shinde Urges Staying Home Unless Essential Amid Mumbai Rain

Following heavy overnight rain in Mumbai, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde urged residents to avoid unnecessary outings on Monday. He instructed the Police Commissioner to restrict access to beaches due to the severe weather. Parts of the city received up to 300 mm of rain, causing widespread waterlogging and disrupting transportation.

Floods in Kaziranga National Park, Assam, have claimed the lives of at least 131 wild animals, including six rhinos and 117 hog deer. Ninety-six animals have been rescued. Among those treated, 25 have succumbed, including hog deer, a swamp deer, a rhesus macaque, and an otter pup due to drowning and other causes.
