On Wednesday, June 29, the Election Commission of India declared that vice presidential elections would be held on August 6.
The Election Commission of India (EC) declared, on Wednesday, June 29, that vice presidential elections would be held on August 6. The term of Vice President Venkaiah Naidu expires on August 10.

According to Article 68 of the Constitution, the election to fill the vacancy left by the departing vice president’s term of office must be finished before the term’s expiration.

In the event that a poll is required, it will take place on August 6 from 10 am to 5 pm, and the results will be tallied that same day.

The election will be announced on July 5 by the EC. The deadline to submit a nomination is July 19. The deadline for withdrawal of an application is July 22, and the nomination will be reviewed on July 20.

The results of the presidential election will be announced on July 21. The presidential election is planned to take place on July 18.
