The farewell ceremony for outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind was held in the Parliament today.
Mumbai: On Saturday, Ramnath Kovind while bidding farewell as a president, thanked the citizen of India for giving him an opportunity to serve the nation and said “Parliament is a temple of democracy” in his speech. He even asked the political parties to go beyond partisan politics and work together for the welfare of people in the national interest.
The president even highlighted the value of peace and harmony and asked everyone to follow the Gandhian method.
āI heartily congratulate Droupadi Murmu for being elected as the next President. India will benefit from her guidance,ā he added.
Kovind said he always considered himself as part of the larger family, which includes MPs also, and added that there would have been differences like any family, but they have to work together for the greater interests of the country.
KovindĀ alsoĀ thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, theĀ CouncilĀ ofĀ Ministers,Ā outgoingĀ Vice PresidentĀ Venkaiah Naidu and Lok SabhaĀ PresidentĀ Om Birla for theirĀ support.
