High Court Denies Congress’s Pleas Over Tax Reassessment Proceedings

On Friday, the Delhi High Court rejected Congress’s challenges against the Income Tax Department’s reassessment proceedings. Justices Yashwant Varma and Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav pronounced the dismissal, awaiting a detailed order. The court reserved its verdict on March 20 regarding the party’s pleas contesting reassessment for fiscal years 2014-15, 2015-16, and 2016-17, arguing that they exceeded the limitation period.
