Hold probe into PM Cares Fund & corona scams in other civic bodies, Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray chief Uddhav Thackeray at the customary Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park on Tuesday dared the BJP led government to conduct an inquiry into the use of PM Cares Fund and also to the MahaYuti government to hold investigations into the alleged scams in handling the coronavirus pandemic in Nagpur, Thane, Pune, Nagpur and other civic bodies while not restricting it to only the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). He also dared the MahaYuti government to conduct elections to the BMC and state assembly together saying that his party will accept the outcome.

Uddhav targeted the BJP led government at the Centre and warned that anyone who tries to separate Mumbai from Maharashtra will be cut into pieces. He also strongly defended the Maha Vikas Aghadi government’s decision to shift Metro 3 car depot from Aarey Colony and also put on hold the release of land for the Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet trains.  “How many people will use the bullet train? This is a bullet train so that the traitors here can quickly escape to Gujarat. Anyone who tries to separate Mumbai from Maharashtra will be torn apart,’’ he said and criticised the Centre’s repeated efforts to belittle Mumbai’s importance as the financial capital as industries are shifted to Gujarat and Film City to Uttar Pradesh.

Without naming Adani Group, which has bagged the Dharavi redevelopment project, Uddhav said he was shocked after knowing that the FSI worth Rs 150 crore has been provided to the ‘’friend.’’  ‘’If the development of Dharavi goes into your friend’s pocket, we will not let it happen, we will take to the streets,’’he warned. He declared that he will soon visit Dharavi and speak at length on the issue. He demanded that the homes should also be provided to mill workers and the government employees.

Uddhav without naming attacked the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker for postponing the hearing on the disqualification petitions filed by his party against Eknath Shinde and 15 others despite Supreme Court’s rap.  ‘’Will the Supreme Court in the country continue to exist? Will democracy survive?’’he asked.

‘’When you want to decide on disqualification, decide it after 20 years or after 50 years. But today the whole country, the whole world is not just looking at the disqualification ruling but asking whether the Supreme Court will exist? Will the constitution written by Babasaheb Ambedkar exist in this country or not? Our focus is on whether India’s democracy will last or not,’’he said.

‘’Who will decide who is ineligible? People have decided who is ineligible. I mean, before the case is decided, hold elections and show it. The public will decide whether they are worthy or unworthy. Let it be. But we have expectations from the Supreme Court”, mentioned Uddhav.

Uddhav dared the MahaYuti government to keep its word and provide reservation to the Maratha community. He thanked the pro-Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil, who has announced to go on an indefinite fast from Wednesday to press the quota, for continuing his agitation peacefully. He also thanked Jarange-Patil for extending support for the Dhangar reservation. ‘’If traitors have guts, solve this reservation issue. Solve it in the parliament,’’ he said.
