HW NEWS EXCLUSIVE: Maha Govt to soon release export policy to retain its preeminence in industry, trade & investments 

Amid rising competition from various states, the MahaYuti government in a bid to maintain Maharashtra’s preeminence as the
favored destination for industry, trade & investments will soon release an export policy. The government will provide a slew of incentives and concessions to boost exports from the state. The government proposes to earmark
1% fund for one district one product in the proposed export policy that is expected to be cleared soon by the state cabinet said the Industry Secretary Harshdeep Kamble at the meeting called by Maharashtra Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson Neelam Gorhe with industry representatives here on Monday.
Kamble said that the government is aware of huge opportunities that the industry can tap in the US, Canada, and countries from the Middle East, Africa, and ASEAN.
MahaYuti government’s move is crucial as several states including Telangana and Gujarat have crafted their export policies.
Besides, Kamble said that the state government will revive the Venture Capital Fund in association with SIDBI to help MSMEs. He noted that the government has already utilised the Rs 600 crore fund and a similar corpus will be put in place by January after the cabinet approval.
Meanwhile, Gorhe asked the state government to implement ” Magnetic Maharashtra” initiatives in a more comprehensive and planned manner to attract investors in the state. She emphasized the need for special efforts to increase mutual coordination with various countries, start-ups, and innovators to increase global investment in Maharashtra.
She also suggested that at the beginning of the upcoming winter session, a summit of women entrepreneurs should be planned to get a platform in Nagpur and review the progress being made in Maharashtra’s industrial sector through an exhibition.

 

Kamble said that the state has its own industrial policy and the government is trying through various means to bring more investment into the state. He said that in this process, the cooperation of business associations is definitely important.
