New Delhi:  An important meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will happen in Mumbai on Tuesday ahead of the organizationโ€™s Annual General Meeting (AGM), as per sources.

The boardโ€™s AGM will take place on October 18 in Mumbai. As per sources, all the office bearers of BCCI are leaving for Mumbai tonight. All the key decisions on office-bearers and posts will be taken during this meeting.

Till yet, no decision has been taken on office bearers of the board. Sourav Ganguly is the current president of BCCI. But whether he will contest the election or not is a question still unanswered. Cricket fans could get their answers about future office bearers of the board on October 18 during the AGM.

Sanjay Raut, who has been behind bars for over two months, was in Mumbai sessions court for the hearing of his bail plea on Monday.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Monday said, A new symbol might bring a new revolution for the party, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said on Monday. The remarks of Raut came after the Election Commission of India barred the Shiv Sena factions led by Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde from using the party name and its election symbol in the Andheri East assembly bypoll. The poll body also asked both the groups to suggest by Monday three different name choices and as many free symbols for allocation to their respective groups.

Speaking about the latest issue of party symbols being frozen, Raut said, The freezing of symbols happens in the life of a political party. With Congress, it happened thrice, including the time of Indira Gandhi. This happened with the Janta Party as well.

Sanjay Raut further said, Maybe the new symbol will bring a new revolution for the party, adding that the symbol and name might be different, but the party is still the same.

Sanjay Raut, who has been behind bars for over two months, was in Mumbai sessions court for the hearing of his bail plea on Monday. Large numbers of his supporters turned up at court to see him. Many touched his feet, some hugged him and family members of Raut were present there too.

Shiv Sena MP Vinayak Raut and  Yuva Sena leader Varun Sardesai too were in the court corridor meeting Sanjay Raut. On the issue of symbols and names, which is of prime importance for the coming Andheri by-election, Raut said that the Eknath Shinde faction might not get it so soon. He further added, โ€œEknath Shinde is the most hated man in Maharashtra right now.

Sanjay Raut was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection to a money laundering case on August 1. The accusations against Raut are of laundering money, the proceeds of crime which emanated from the Patrawala Chawl reconstruction that the Mumbai policeโ€™s economic offense wing is investigating.

Meanwhile, Sunil Raut, Sajays brother, informed ThePrint that the latter is writing his memoir and that he plans to pen down every nuisance.
