Prolonged heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu has led to extensive damage, prompting relief and rescue efforts by the Indian Air Force and Navy. Operations included the distribution of food and relief materials in flood-affected regions, such as Srivaikuntam. Chief Minister MK Stalin surveyed flood conditions and personally distributed relief items in Thoothukudi, where NDRF collaborated with the district administration to aid marooned residents. Tenkasi and Kanyakumari also faced flooding due to intense rain on December 17 and 18.
