India’s Retail Inflation Eases To 5.09% In February

According to government data released on March 12, 2024, retail inflation in February slightly dipped to 5.09%, down from January’s 5.10%. Economists polled by Reuters had anticipated a decrease to 5.02%. The inflation rate remained within the RBI’s 2-6% range. Inflation increased by 0.16% compared to the previous month’s decline of -0.11%. Industrial production in India held steady at 3.8% in January.
