The Uttar Pradesh Police recently charged journalist Zakir Ali Tyagi and four others for their social media claims alleging a lynching incident involving a Muslim man in Shamli district. The individuals, including Wasim Akram Tyagi, Asif Rana, Saif Allahbadi, and Ahmad Raza Khan, face charges under section 196 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for promoting enmity between different groups under section and making statements conducive to public mischief under section 353.
