Green Pencil Foundation Organised An Menstrual Hygiene Management Workshop For differently abled Teenage girls in All India Institute for Speech & Hearing, Mysore, Karnataka under the Initiative “Periods Of Pride’.
More than 200 differently abled girls participated in the workshop and became the Green Champion by breaking the Period Taboos to end Period Poverty. The session was conducted by Ms. Ayesha Firdoz, State Head of Green Pencil Foundation, Karnataka. By considering February as a Menstrual Month, Green Pencil Foundation is organizing a survey/awareness campaign on Menstrual Hygiene in 11+ Indian and major cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Mysore, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Chennai, Jaipur, Ambala, Aligarh, Gurugram, etc under its Initiative Periods Of Pride. Ayesha Firdoz quotes that girls who are getting problems with pad disposal, need to adopt reusable cloth pads, which will solve their disposal problem, and that is economically good too. Ayesha Firdoz also quoted the right way of dealing with cramps during the first time starting with the periods. She said people who are considering this as a taboo, need to think about it, this is a natural process due to which the universe is running, due to which only a mother is able to give birth to the baby.

“Periods Of Pride’ is an initiative by Green Pencil Foundation under which the foundation is educating girls in their teenage and women from rural and slum areas about Menstrual Hygiene Management. Under the Initiative “Periods Of Pride’ foundation is breaking the taboos related to period poverty and educating teenage girls to take care of their health in the right way with better Menstrual Hygiene Management. Under this initiative, the foundation is also focusing on reusable & recyclable cloth pads as it is cost-friendly & health friendly. Under this initiative, the foundation organized 200+ Menstrual Hygiene Management Workshops throughout the country, where 30000+ girls ( aged between 8 years to 45 years) were impacted.
On the occasion of New Year 2023 under this initiative he adopted 300+ Major & minor slum areas in urban cities and he pledged to cover 1000+ villages in Northern India.
