KCR made Divisive Politics remarks when he was demanding a 10% reservation for tribal people in Telangana from Bharatiya Janata Party

Hyderabad: In an effort to defeat the BJP in a rally-versus-rally contest to commemorate the annexation of the former princely state of Hyderabad by India in 1948, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of playing a divisive political game at the Hyderabad Rally.

He made these remarks when he was demanding a 10% reservation for tribal people in Telangana from BJP. Today at a public function organized by TRS he said, “The Bill (proposed law) is pending with the Centre. I am asking Amit Shah, who is doing divisive politics here; I am folding hands and asking PM Narendra Modi, whose birthday it is today, to please approve that Bill.”

He also added that even the President of India Droupadi Murmu belongs to the tribal community, and she won’t stop the move.

The Centre and the State government are celebrating this day at different events. The central government is calling it a day of liberation “from a cruel Nizam,” while the state is calling it ‘Telangana National Integration Day.’

Earlier Amit Shah, took a swipe at “those who have turned their back” on celebrating the day “due to vote bank politics” and the “fear” of Razakars.

The Razakars opposed the Hyderabad State’s merger with the Union of India and demanded that it either join Pakistan or become an independent dominion after India attained freedom. It was included in the Union of India on September 17, 1948, thanks largely to a military operation led by the then-Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel.

At the rally, Amit Shah invoking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel said that if it was not for him, Hyderabad would have taken many more years to get liberated. “After so many years, there was a desire in this land that the Hyderabad Liberation Day should be celebrated with the government’s participation. But unfortunately, 75 years are over and those who ruled this place could not dare celebrate Hyderabad liberation day due to vote bank politics,” Shah said.
