Kerala Health Minister Veena George has instructed the Women and Child Development department to investigate the suicide of a 26-year-old woman PG Doctor at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
Shahana, a surgery department student, allegedly took her own life due to dowry demands, including gold, land, and a BMW car, made by her male doctor friend’s family.
The relationship ended when her family couldn’t meet these demands. The minister seeks a detailed report on the incident.
