Nitish Kumar govt floor test

Patna: A floor test to prove the majority of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led government began in the Bihar Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
Earlier Proceedings of the Legislative Assembly were adjourned till 2 pm. โ€œAccording to rules, after the resignation of the Speaker, all the work of the Assembly will be handled by the Deputy Speaker,โ€ said Maheshwar Hazari, the Deputy Speaker of the assembly.

Notably, Bharatiya Janta Partyโ€™s Vijay Kumar Sinha today resigned as the Speaker of the Bihar Assembly ahead of a floor test to prove the majority of the โ€˜Mahagathbandhanโ€™ alliance government led by the chief minister Nitish Kumar.

JD(U)โ€™s Narendra Narayan Yadav, whose name was recommended by Sinha will chair the floor test now.
Sinhaโ€™s resignation came after a no-confidence motion against him was moved by the MLAs of the ruling coalition.

Sinha had earlier said the notice for the motion, received at the Vidhan Sabha secretariat was unclear and did not follow the rules and regulations.
โ€œI would like to tell you that your no-confidence motion is unclear. Eight of the nine letters, which were received were not as per rule,โ€ said Sinha.

He also said that casting allegations on the Chair would send out a negative message to the public. โ€œThe Chair is โ€˜Panch Parmeshwarโ€™. What message do you want to give by casting suspicions on the Chair? People will make a decision,โ€ the BJP leader said addressing the House.

Haryana: A day after BJP leader from Haryana and television actor Sonali Phogat passed away suddenly in Goa, her family has raised questions about the manner in which the 42-year-old died claiming they suspect foul play in the matter. They have also demanded an investigation by authorities into the death. Sonali Phogat was brought dead to hospital in Goa on August 23 with several reports stating that the late actor had suffered a heart attack.

Sonaliโ€™s sister Rupesh told ANI that their mother had spoken to the late actor a day before her demise in which the actor had complained of โ€œfeeling uneasy after her meal.โ€
โ€œI received a call from her the evening before her death. She said she wanted to talk over WhatsApp and said that something fishy was going on.
