Maharashtra: Govt To Hold Special Session For Maratha Reservation, CM Shinde

Amid ongoing protests by pro-Maratha and pro-OBC activists, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday announced that the government will hold a special session of the state legislature in February next year to provide reservations to the Maratha community saying that the government will receive a report from the State Backward Classes Commission within a month and based on that it will take a decision on providing quota to Maratha community that will stand the legal scrutiny and which will be given without touching quotas of OBCs and other communities. Shinde made this announcement after a marathon debate took place in the state assembly.
