A Mumbai college implemented a new dress code prohibiting torn jeans, t-shirts, and โrevealing dressesโ, days after banning the hijab. The Chembur Trombay Education Societyโs NG Acharya and DK Marathe College issued a notice requiring students to wear โformal and decentโ attire. Clothing that reveals religious or cultural disparity is also banned. The notice specifies that hijabs, burkas, niqabs, stoles, caps, and badges should be removed in common rooms before moving around campus.
