Mumbai College Bans Torn Jeans, T-shirts, โ€œRevealing Dressesโ€

A Mumbai college implemented a new dress code prohibiting torn jeans, t-shirts, and โ€œrevealing dressesโ€, days after banning the hijab. The Chembur Trombay Education Societyโ€™s NG Acharya and DK Marathe College issued a notice requiring students to wear โ€œformal and decentโ€ attire. Clothing that reveals religious or cultural disparity is also banned. The notice specifies that hijabs, burkas, niqabs, stoles, caps, and badges should be removed in common rooms before moving around campus.
