A Mumbai college implemented a new dress code prohibiting torn jeans, t-shirts, and “revealing dresses”, days after banning the hijab. The Chembur Trombay Education Society’s NG Acharya and DK Marathe College issued a notice requiring students to wear “formal and decent” attire. Clothing that reveals religious or cultural disparity is also banned. The notice specifies that hijabs, burkas, niqabs, stoles, caps, and badges should be removed in common rooms before moving around campus.
