A 25-year-old woman in Mumbai was allegedly attacked by a 44-year-old man with a blade at her Kalachowki residence on Tuesday afternoon, following her rejection of his marriage proposal and an earlier insult. The accused, a driver residing in Parshuram Nagar, Kalachowki, has been apprehended by the police.
The victim, who resides with her two brothers, is in critical condition and undergoing treatment at KEM Hospital. The accused, who had been in a year-long relationship with the woman, reportedly became enraged after she repeatedly refused his marriage proposal.

An argument on Monday night escalated, leading to the alleged throat-slitting incident on Tuesday. Despite the victim’s cries for help, the accused managed to escape initially but was later arrested. A case has been filed against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 307 (attempted murder).
