Twenty-seven-year-old Harish Shah, accused of killing his live-in partner Megha and hiding her body in a bed box in Maharashtra’s Nalasopara, sold furniture from the victim’s house for Rs 4,500 to purchase a train ticket to leave the city after committing the murder, reported India Today.
According to Tulinj police, Hardik called a few scrap dealers’ home to sell the furniture on Sunday as he was in need of money to flee. Since he hid Megha’s body under the bed box, it was the only thing he didn’t sell, police said.
The Railway Protection Force with the help of local police arrested Harish on Tuesday at Nagda railway station in Madhya Pradesh.

According to the police, Hardik Shah and Megha Dhan Singh Torvi stayed at Sita Sadan society in Nalasopara.
The couple had allegedly told their real estate agent, landlord, and neighbors that they were married. The couple rented a flat in the Vijay Nagar area of Nalasopara at the start of February, but their quarrels continued, a police official told PTI.
He and Megha had met through a dating app three years ago, and after living together for some time, they got married in August last year, the police official said.
Shah, who was unemployed, had worked as a call-data-record (CDR) analyst during the lockdown, while Megha was working as a nurse, but she had also quit the job, he said. On Saturday, there was yet another fight during which Shah allegedly strangled Megha with a towel, and then stuffed her body in a bed box.
