NBDSA Fines Aaj Tak For Remarks, Penalizes Channels Over ‘Love Jihad’ Shows

The NBDSA has issued penalties to News18 India, Times Now Navbharat, and Aaj Tak for broadcasting content that incites hatred and communal disharmony. News18 India was fined and instructed to remove three shows, while Aaj Tak faced sanctions for Sudhir Chaudhary’s remarks about Barack Obama. Chaudhary’s comments, including “Tukde Tukde Gang” and “Khalistani in Punjab,” were deemed inflammatory. Aaj Tak was fined Rs. 75,000 and directed to edit or delete the offensive content. The NBDSA’s actions highlight efforts to maintain objectivity and neutrality in broadcasting standards.
