NCW’s Rekha Sharma Slams Ashok Gehlot Over His Remark Of ‘Fake Rape’

NCW slam Ashok Gehlot Over fake rape remark
CM Ashok Gehlot said that more than half of the cases of crimes against women, in the state were false.

New Delhi: National Commission for Women (NCW) President Rekha Sharma hit out against Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot over his statement regarding 50 percent rape cases in Rajasthan being fake.

She said that Gehlot is denying the actual data regarding his state while making the statement. She even accused the Rajasthan police of working with the same mindset. “Rajsathan CM @ashokgehlot51 is in denial when he says 50% of rape cases in Rajasthan are fake. Exactly with the same mindset, his police works and that’s why women in the state don’t get justice,” Sharma tweeted on Saturday.

On Friday, CM Gehlot said that more than half of the cases of crimes against women, in the state were false. He also said that the rise in rape numbers is because of the compulsory FIR system in the state.
“Who commits rape? In most cases, the crime is committed by acquaintances of the victim, including relatives. About 56 per cent of cases of crimes against women were fake as false cases were filed. We have initiated action in this matter,” the Chief Minister said.

“The DGP is standing next to me. I would like to say that those who file false cases should not be spared so that others don`t dare to defame the state by filing false cases,” Gehlot further added.

As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Rajasthan is placed second in crimes against women in 2021. Also, most rape cases were reported in the state for the third consecutive year.

Mexico City: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday unveiled a statue of Swami Vivekananda in Mexico and said his teachings to humanity transcend geographical barriers and time.
“Honoured to unveil a Statue of Swami Vivekananda in Mexico. This is the first statue of Swami ji in Latin America. The statue will be a source of inspiration for people, especially for the youth of the region, to strive and bring the change which will take their country to new prime,” Om Birla tweeted. Om Birla is leading an Indian Parliamentary delegation to Mexico.

“Swami ji’s message and teachings to the humanity transcend geographical barriers and time. His message is for the entire humanity. Today, by unveiling his bust in Mexico, we are paying our humble Tributes to him,” he said in another tweet.

Yesterday, Om Birla unveiled a bust of freedom fighter Dr Pandurang Khankhoje at Chapingo University in Mexico. Birla also visited Chapingo University, the oldest agricultural university in Latin America.
Birla called on the President of the Chamber of Deputies in Mexico Santiago Creel. The two leaders discussed several matters of mutual importance.

He observed that India and Mexico have historically close relations and Mexico was the first country to recognize India as an independent country in 1947.

Recalling that the discovery of Mexico to the modern world was the result of an expedition that was initiated to explore India, Birla noted that the relations between the two countries, in terms of trade, economy and culture, have grown from strength to strength.

“As I depart after a highly productive visit to Mexico, I place on record my thanks and appreciation to Mexican Parliament & Govt. for their commitment to strengthen ties with India. Hopeful that this visit will set the tone for closer ties between the two countries,” he tweeted.
