The Income Tax Department will refrain from enforcing measures to retrieve Rs 3,500 crore owed by Congress until the second week of June due to the impending Lok Sabha elections, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta informed the Supreme Court. The case will be reviewed on July 24. Mehta highlighted that the party has settled Rs 134 crore in tax arrears this year and recently augmented this payment by an additional Rs 1,700 crore.
