Nupur Sharma Again Moves SC Seeking Clubbing Of FIRs, Protection From Arrest

A Supreme court bench of Justice J B Pardiwal and Justice Surya Kant had on 1st July slammed Nupur Sharma for her controversial remarks against the Prophet Mohammad.

Suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma today filed a petition in the SC challenging the observations of the top court over her arrest in cases in connection to her remarks on Prophet Mohammad during a live Tv debate.

In an earlier plea, too, she’d requested the Supreme Court to club the FIRs, but the court made some blistering comments against her. She then withdrew that plea. In a new plea today, Ms. Sharma has argued that “fringe elements have renewed” rape and death threats to her since then. In her earlier plea as well, she had cited death threats.

A Supreme court bench of justice J B Pardiwala and Justice Surya Kant had on 1st July slammed Nupur Sharma for her controversial remarks against the Prophet Mohammad. The bench said, “her loose tongue has set the entire country on fire.”

The bench further said she is “single-handedly responsible for what is happening in the country”.

Ms. Sharma’s petition has sought the clubbing of the Fir’s registered in Maharashtra, Telengana, West Bengal, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh.
