Onion Export Ban Lifted, Sets Minimum Export Price

Amid ongoing Lok Sabha elections, the government lifted the ban on onion exports but introduced a minimum export price (MEP) of USD 550 per tonne. Previously, a 40% duty was imposed on onion exports. This amendment allows onion exports with immediate effect, stipulating the MEP until further notice.
