Pakistan had earlier claimed to have done damage to the air base after its strikes during the night
Just days after Operation Sindoor was launched, PM Modi went to the Adampur Air Base. He met the air force personnel and interacted with them. This comes shortly after Pakistan and India agreed to have a ceasefire.
Pakistan had targeted the Adampur air force base on the nights of 9th and 10th May. This was also after the Sindoor operation.
Pakistan’s Claims About Adampur Airbase
The visit of the Prime Minister to the Adampur Air Base is important. Pakistan had earlier claimed to have done damage to the air base after its strikes during the night. India had already averted a lot of the missiles and rockets that Pakistan had fired using its defence system. Pictures from the visit show that the base was not damaged and quite well.

India’s Denial Of Pakistan’s Claims
But, India denied the claims from Pakistan of having damaged the site. Satellite images also showed that none of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Bases were really damaged by Pakistan.
PM Modi later wrote on X, “Earlier this morning, I went to AFS Adampur and met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to be with those who epitomise courage, determination and fearlessness. India is eternally grateful to our armed forces for everything they do for our nation.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote, “Every Indian is extremely proud of the courage and valour of our brave soldiers.”
“Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji met the brave soldiers at Adampur Airbase and boosted their morale. The valour of our three armies and armed forces has become synonymous with zero tolerance against terrorism across the world.”
PM Modi on Monday addressed the nation about the Indian armed forces. He said, “Operation Sindoor is now India’s established policy in the fight against terrorism, marking a decisive shift in India’s strategic approach.”
