Popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja Arrested After Fans Throng Noida Metro Station To Celebrate His Birthday

According to a report by India Today, police held popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, also known as ‘flying beast’, after his  followers thronged the Sector 51 metro station in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida to celebrate his birthday.

Through his Instagram, the Youtuber had informed his followers that he would celebrate his birthday at the Noida metro station among fans. After his post, thousands of his fans rushed to the Sector 51 metro station to meet the YouTuber, who has over 7.5 million subscribers on YT.

As thousands of his fans thronged station, a stampede-like situation occurred at the location. However, no one was seriously hurt.  The Noida Sector 49 Police rushed to the location and pacified people.

Metro commuters had to face difficulties due to the sudden rush, whereas Metro employees had a hard time handling the situation. With tokens being distributed for the event under the metro station, a massive traffic jam situation was created. Police, however, dispersed the traffic as soon as they were informed.

Soon, the police imposed section 144 of the CrPC and the YouTuber was held for violation of section 144. After being kept in police custody for two hours, Gaurav Taneja was arrested under Section 241 (punishment for wrongful restraint) and Section 188 (disobedience to an order lawfully promulgated by a public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
