Watch: “Put Lakshmi Ji & Ganesh Ji’s Photo On Currency Notes,” Appeals Kejriwal To PM Modi

Kejriwal said, “We need a lot of efforts to get our economy back on track, but along with that we also need blessings of our gods and goddesses”

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to include Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh on currency notes. He made this appeal in a bid to “get the economy back on track.”

Indirectly stating that nation’s economy is not in shape Kejriwal said, “We need a lot of efforts to get our economy back on track, but along with that we also need blessings of our gods and goddesses.”

He said, “On Indian currency notes…on one side there is the picture of Gandhi Ji…it should remain as it is…if we put a photo of Ganesha Ji and Lakshmi Ji on the other side, the entire country will get their blessings.”

Citing Indonesia’s currency notes he said that Indonesia being a Muslim-dominated nation, has a picture of Lord Ganesh on their notes. He said, “Indonesia is a Muslim country. There are 85% Muslims and only 2% Hindus but there is a picture of Shri Ganesh Ji on the currency. When Indonesia can, why can’t we? The photos can be printed on fresh notes.”

In his appeal to PM Modi, he said, “I appeal to the Prime Minister that the pictures of Mata Lakshmi and Shri Ganesh Ji should be put on the newly printed notes also.”

He also explained that Lord Ganesh is widely regarded as a remover of obstacles and thought to bring good luck. Goddess Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, fortune, power, beauty, fertility, and prosperity.

Kejriwal said, “I will write to the Centre tomorrow or the day after tomorrow to appeal for it… we need the almighty’s blessings apart from the efforts to settle the economic condition of the country.”

He said that country is going through a very delicate situation as the rupee depreciates against the US dollar. Kejriwal said, “We need the almighty’s blessings apart from our efforts to stabilize the economic condition of the country.”
