Sandeshkhali Violence: Top Bengal Police Officials Replaced

The West Bengal government conducted a significant rearrangement in its IPS cadre. It shifted senior officer Sumit Kumar from DIG (Barasat Range) to DIG (Security), while Bhaskar Mukherjee assumed the former’s role. Although attributed to recent violence in Sandeshkhali, government officials termed it a routine transfer.
