‘Sexist Shaktiman’; Mukesh Khanna Under Fire For “If A Girl Wants Sex…” Remark

Mukesh Khanna, the actor famous for playing the superhero character of Shaktiman and Bhisma Pitamaha in Mahabharata on television, has landed in a controversy after a video of him started doing rounds, in which he’s heard making sexist and misogynistic comments on women.

As his video went viral, social media users criticised Mr Khanna for his comments on girls.

Mr Khanna, on his YouTube channel called Bheeshm International, uploaded a video earlier this week titled “Kya aapko bhi aisi ladkiya lubhati hain?” (Do such girls lure you as well). In this video, the Shaktiman actor said:  “Koi bhi ladki agar kisi ladke ko kahe ‘I want to have sex with you’, wo ladki, ladki nahi hai, wo dhanda kar rahi hai (girls who desire sex and ask for it are sex workers)”.

Kyunki is tarah ki nirlaj baatein koi sabhya samaj ki ladki kabhi nahi karegi (Because a decent girl belonging to civilised society would never say such things),” Mr Khanna went on to add.

As clips of his comments from this video went viral, people on social media called out Mr Khanna for his regressive views and called him ‘sexist’.

Journalist Monika Rawat, reacting to Mr Khanna’s comments, said: “What the hell was Mr #MukeshKhanna thinking while making this moronic statment about women and their choices??? You shame women who ask for sex? I hope a guy forcing sex on a woman bothers you as much. DISGUSTING!! 🤮 😡 🤮”

Another user named Rational Citizen wrote:”No thoughts on “If a guy wants to have sex” ??? Well anyways, I feel pity on your mindset and thought process. You should go to school and broaden your vision. Sorry ShaktiMaan”

One user named Anjali wrote: “why i dont see any outrage on what MUKESH KHANNA said. why such people keep on getting government patronage. flop actors even worse human being. jaahil”
