Sexual Assualt Case: Keral High Court Grants Anticipatory Bail To Actor Vijay Babu

Kochi: On Wednesday, June 22, the Kerala High Court granted anticipatory relief to Malayalam actor-producer Vijay Babu in a case involving an alleged rape. After a lady who is also an actor accused Vijay Babu of abusing her for movie roles, he was arrested for sexual assault.

On Monday, June 27, the accused was requested to appear before the case’s investigating officer for questioning.

At the end of April, right when a woman reported Vijay Babu for sexual assault, he had already gone for Dubai. After Kochi Police filed a complaint against him, the actor left the country. On June 1, Vijay Babu visited Kochi once more after spending 39 days abroad.

While granting the anticipatory bail plea, the Kerala HC asked him not to leave the state and to submit his passport.

The Assault Case

In her complaint, the victim claimed that Vijay Babu repeatedly beat and tormented her in his apartment in Ernakulam. Additionally, he had promised her better chances in the film business.

“When I was incapable of saying yes or no consciously, he used my body as a tool for his pleasure. He has forced himself on me and even forced me into oral sex in a car against my will. I was in a state of shock, incapable of talking or responding,” the victim said on the Facebook post, where she revealed the incident.

“I was under his control and was scared to speak up because of the clout, influence and power he wielded in the film industry. It was a trap to use me,” said the victim.

On April 26, nevertheless, Vijay Babu flipped the script on his accuser. The Mollywood legend went live on Facebook, accusing the girl of tormenting him and claiming that he was the “true victim.”

Maya Babu, the mother of Vijay Babu, complained about the actress on Saturday for accusing him of rape. She claimed that the actress’s false complaint against her son.
