Tamil Nadu Assembly Passes Resolution To Abolish NEET

On Friday, the Tamil Nadu Assembly unanimously passed a resolution urging the Centre to abolish NEET in the state and admit students to medical courses based on Class 12 marks. This move occurred despite an Opposition walkout. Chief Minister MK Stalin vowed that the ruling DMK would continue opposing NEET due to alleged irregularities by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

After recording an unprecedented temperature of 52.3 degrees Celsius, the highest ever in India, Delhi experienced rain showers this afternoon, offering some relief from the intense heat. The city has been suffering from severe heatwave conditions, with maximum temperatures near 50 degrees Celsius and minimums close to 30 degrees. The India Meteorological Department had predicted a high of 45.8 degrees today, but Mungeshpur hit the record-breaking temperature at 2.30 pm.
