Telangana: 6 Party Leaders Join Congress

Late last night, six members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Legislative Council joined the Congress party in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. This defection deals a significant blow to the K. Chandrasekhar Rao-led BRS, already suffering from a series of desertions following its defeat in the assembly polls last year. According to the Telangana Legislative Council website, the BRS now has 25 members, and Congress has four, with other seats occupied by nominated members and other smaller parties.
