Lovlina said, “My other coach has also been sent back to India. Even after my multiple requests, this has happened which has caused me a lot of mental harassment.”

Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain on Monday accused the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) , the national governing body for amateur boxing for the Olympics, of mental harassment.

“With utmost sorrow, I want to inform that I am facing a lot of harassment. The coaches who assisted me in winning the Olympic medal are being replaced again and again and harassing me in my training process and competition. One of the coaches Sandhya Gurungji is a Dhronacharya awardee”, she said.

She further alleged that “Both my coaches have to plead a thousand times for training inside the camp. This time I had to face a lot of hardships and mental harassment during training.”

“Currently, my coach Sandhya Gurungji is outside commonwealth village and he is not getting entry because of which my training is at a halt just 8 days ahead of the games,” She added.

She further said, “My other coach has also been sent back to India. Even after my multiple requests, this has happened which has caused me a lot of mental harassment.”

She also said: “I am not understanding how shall I focus on my game, this ruined my previous championship as well and I don’t want this politics to spoil my CWG. ”

She concluded her message by saying, “I hope I will be able to break these politics and win the medal for my country, Hai.”

Lovlina was the first Assamese female to represent India at the Olympics.

.@LovlinaBorgohaiis an asset to our nation, she should be encouraged and supported in every way. I hope the government will look into her complaint and do everything possible to stop the harassment she is facing,” Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said responding to Lovlina’s tweet.
