Typhoon Gaemi struck northern Taiwan, killing two, causing floods, and sinking a freighter. The strongest typhoon to hit Taiwan in eight years, Gaemi had gusts up to 227 kph before weakening. By morning, it headed towards Fuzhou in China’s Fujian province, which was expected to bring more heavy rain.
