Unveiling The Extravaganza: Wilson College’s Olé Dobara, Mumbai se Bambai Tak!

Wilson College is geared up for its seventh edition of Olé, the inter-collegiate festival taking place from the 19th to the 21st of December.

This year’s theme, Olé Dobara: Bambai se Mumbai, takes a leaf out of the pages of the magical old Bombay, the time of Kaali Peelis, Double Deckers, Dev Anand and Kishore Kumar. We intend to honour the era long gone that gave birth to the gigantic metropolis that we now call Mumbai.

Olé laid its foundation in Wilson College by the name of Wilforia in the year 2007. Each year, it attracts all kinds of artists from a myriad of colleges and provides a space that celebrates their creative abilities, be it performing arts, fine arts, literary arts or sports; no stones are left unturned when it comes to giving opportunities for showcasing talent.

For readers wondering what all kinds of contests they shall get to see under Performing Arts. The performing arts include events like “Hum, Tum aur Dance” where the dance floor will be lit up in retro lights against the latest trends, the “Abhinaya Rasadhara” where we honour our classical Indian roots, the dynamic street play event

“Local Train Tales” and many more jam-packed events like Street dance, Band Performances, Solo Singing, Fashion Shows, Rap and Group Dance.

Each year, Wilson College opens it’s gates to thousands of people with an approximate footfall of 6,000 people.

The students of Wilson College work tirelessly each year to bring this fest to fruition, all while cementing strong friendships, integrating ethics and cultivating valuable skills.

This year, there are several esteemed guests gracing our event, including the likes of actress Divya Agarwal, filmmaker Manoj Sharma, director Sajid Samji, Yo Highness the stunning dance crew and Adnan Saber.

The fest comprises three days, the first day being the vibrant Bazaar Day, an iconic pre-event where various small businesses come together and exhibit their entrepreneurial zeal, from food stalls to clothing items, games to accessories, you name it, and they have it! The next two days we get to witness talented individuals magnanimously clashing to reach the top. Get ready to be amazed by this astounding spectacle!

Wilson College awaits to welcome you in this celebration of talent, creativity, hard work and passion. Lot of fun and merry times are to come with Olé Dobara!
