The problem has reportedly been brought up with the operations and security departments, according to the Bengaluru airport administration

Bengaluru: A female musician sharing her security check experience at Bengaluru Airport said that it was a really humiliating one. She said she was asked to remove her shirt during the security check at the airport. From her now-deactivated Twitter account, she made the accusation.

The problem has reportedly been brought up with the operations and security departments, according to the Bengaluru airport administration. The Central Industrial Security Force is in charge of handling airport security.

“I was asked to remove my shirt at Bengaluru airport during security check. It was really humiliating to stand there at the security checkpoint wearing just a camisole and getting the kind of attention you’d never want as a woman. @BLRAirport Why would you need a woman to strip?” the musician tweeted.

This morning the post was deleted and her account was deactivated soon after.

The Bengaluru airport’s official Twitter handle responding to the lady said “this should not have happened.” They requested the lady to share her contact details so that they can reach out to her.

“We deeply regret the hassle caused and this should not have happened. We have highlighted this to our operations team and also escalated it to the security team managed by CISF (Central Industrial Security force) a Government sovereign,” it said in a now-deleted Twitter reply.

Airport security check issues have recently generated a lot of discussions. Airports were crowded with vacationing travelers after travel restrictions were relaxed following the Covid pandemic’s two-year duration. Last month, chaotic scenes and lengthy lines could be seen at the airports in Delhi and Bengaluru as travelers lamented long lines at the immigration desks and terrifying experiences during security checks.

Passengers won’t have to take out their laptops, phones, or chargers for luggage screening, according to the aviation security watchdog Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, as they are now going to get new scanners. According to the authority, this will enable speedier security inspections and relieve congestion in crowded airports.
