Referring to the BJP leaders as “sons of Savarkar’s Son the AAP National convenor said “You are sons of Savarkar, who apologized to the Britishers while we are the children of Bhagat Singh, who chose to die rather than bow before the foreign powers. You should know that we are not scared of prison like you.”
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday responded to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena’s allegations on Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in connection to corruption and patronage of the liquor mafia, Mr. Kejriwal said, “The allegations are false”.
He further said Mr. Sisodia worked very hard to strengthen the education system which was popular with the people which is why the Centre is trying to stop them.
The Delhi LG today recommended an investigation by the probe agency Central Bureau of Investigation into the Delhi government’s contentious new excise policy. Citing a report by the Chief Secretary, he said the Minister In-charge of the Excise Department, Manish Sisodia, was involved in corruption and worked to favor liquor barons causing massive losses to the exchequer.
“It is also worth understanding why are they targeting the AAP like this. Firstly because we are staunchly honest and the whole nation believes in our scot-free image. So they want to frame false cases against us to prove to the world that we are also just like them, corrupt, lying, and deceitful. But nobody is buying this strategy and they know that the cases are false,” Mr. Kejriwal said.
He further said, “Secondly, they want us to stop expanding our party. They want to defame us because they are scared as we are their up-and-coming challengers. But no one can stop the idea whose time has come, and AAP’s time has come.”

Earlier this week, the Lieutenant Governor had blocked Mr. Kejriwal’s Singapore visit. The party had hit back, with Mr. Sisodia terming the move “mean politics” at work.
Mr. Kejriwal was invited to the “World Cities Summit” back in June by Singapore High Commissioner Simon Wong. He is expected to address the meeting on August 1.
