On Wednesday in Odisha’s Rourkela, a goods train derailed, jumped off the track, and crashed into a residential area. According to the locals, the train moved five metres ahead after the crash.
The goods train is now shunting and sorting bogies for departure. The accident occurred at 6 in the morning.
The motorman fled from the accident place, and till now, no casualties or injuries have been reported.
The colony was illegally set up near the railway tracks. According to the locals, the incident was deliberate to remove the residents.
