Mumbai | Rashtriya Syayamsevak Sangh (RSS) general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi on Friday signalled that the RSS will organise 1992 like agitation on the Ram Mandir issue.
Addressing a press conference after the 3 day Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal Baithak, Joshi said, “Ram Mandir is a matter of faith for crores of Hindus. It’s been over 7-8 yrs the matter is pending in Supreme Court. The delay in the verdict from the court’s side is surprising, concerning and insulting to Hindu sentiments. We appeal to the court to expedite the case,” added Joshi.
Expressing his views on the adjournment of the title suit matter in the RamJanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid, Joshi said, “The court said its priorities are different. Because of this, Hindus feel insulted. It is surprising that the feelings of crores of Hindus are not a priority for the court.”
Speaking on the rumours that Narendra Modi government will pass an ordinance for the construction of Ram Mandir, Joshi said, “Those who want to demand an ordinance to facilitate construction of Ram temple should go ahead. Whether it can be brought in or not is something that the government has to decide.”
Earlier the Supreme Court on 29 October adjourned the hearing of the decade-old Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title dispute till January 2019. The top court bench including Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SK Kaul and Justice M Joseph has postponed the matter till January 2019 to fix the date of hearing in the Ayodhya title suit. Earlier the Supreme Court in September had announced that the hearing of Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute will begin from October 29.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said, “It will come up in the first week of January not for hearing but for deciding the date of the hearing. The hearing may be in January, February, March, whenever….also the bench by which it shall be heard will be constituted.
