Aaditya slams MahaYuti Govt on Kanjurmarg land for Metro 6

Sanjay Jog: Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray leader and former minister Aaditya Thackeray targeted the Eknath Shinde led MahaYuti government on two key issues with regard to the proposed construction of car depot for Metro 6 at Kanjurmarg in north east Mumbai and also on the alleged Rs 6,000 crore Mumbai road scam. ‘’Today I spoke of 2 crucial issues for Mumbai and governance where we stand vindicated, for our well intended actions and exposing the lies of the khoke sarkar. They are Kanjurmarg land for Metro depot and The  ₹6000 crores road scam,’’ he said at the media briefing.’’

Aaditya recalled that the 102 acre Kanjurmarg land was selected by the Maha Vikas Adghadi for an integrated car depot for Metro 3,4,6 and 14. But it could not happen as the Centre claimed it was its land and thereafter one private party approached the court staking its claim over the land. ‘’Why has there been so much jealousy and opposition from the Centre against Mumbai and Maharashtra? Now the state government has proposed Kanjurmarg land for Metro 6 car depot. Had this been cleared way back in 2020 the state government should have saved Rs 10,000 crore,’’he remarked.

‘’This is a fight for Maharashtra and against a corrupt anti Maharashtra regime of mindhe and bjp. We haven’t changed our stand and never will. We fight for our state and against those who want to loot it,’’ said Aaditya. He added that there has been little action in the Mumbai road scam.

He further said that the MVA government had decided to shift the Metro 3 car depot from Aarey Colony to Kanjurmarg in the larger interest of conservation of environment. He added that as the integrated car depot project has not taken off, the state government will now have to look for lands in Thane and around for Metro 4 and 14 by shelling out money for the same.

‘’I also highlight the works in Navi Mumbai by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority that have been awaiting time for inaugurations from the illegal CM. He has time to fly to Delhi, but not inaugurate the works of public importance.

Why aren’t they open to the public for use, since June, instead of waiting in the VVIP culture?’’he asked. He was referring to a slew of projects pending for inauguration in NAVI Mumbai for want of the CM’s availability.

However, Industry Minister Uday Samant refuted Aaditya’s charges relating to Kanjurmarg  land saying that there was no substance in his charges. He clarified that the Metro 3 car depot was planned in Aarey Colony while Metro 6 will now come up on Kanjurmarg land.
