Ahead of ‘Bharat Bandh’, BJP calls Congress a ‘sinking ship of corruption’

New Delhi | A day before a Nationwide strike called by the Congress party against the rising fuel prices, Union Minister and BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has called the Congress a sinking ship of corruption.

Speaking to media, Naqvi raised questions over the Bharat Bandh called by the Congress party. He asked, “They (Congress) have called for a bandh because under Modi Ji, they cannot continue their loot. Have they called for the Bandh because Modi Ji has made the entire world recognise India? Have they called the Bandh because the Indian economy is the strongest in the world?”

Attacking the Congress-led UPA government Naqvi said,” When BJP came to power in 2014, inflation was more than 11 percent which came down to around 4 percent under PM Modi’s guidance.” He further added that “It is true that due to certain global and local causes, inflation has increased, but that would be controlled.”

Earlier on September 6, in order to corner the Narendra Modi led BJP government over the rising fuel prices and falling value of the Ruppe in comparison to US Dollar, the Congress party has called for an nationwide strike on Septemeber 10. The strike is supported by various political parties including Raj Thackeray’s MNS, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Samajwadi Party and Dravid Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
