Ahead of general elections PM Modi visits Gujarat

Ahemdabad | As Minister of India and Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi while touring Gujarat reaches out to women beneficiaries of a housing scheme and dedicated crores of rupees for development projects.

Ahead of general elections, Modi interacted with the women beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana from 26 districts of the state, followed handing over 1.15 lakh women their home possessions.

The PM questioned the women of Rajkot district – “Have you had to pay bribes to get yourself a house under the scheme?”

He also questioned the women from Kutch district – “Are the houses of good quality? Are they made to your satisfaction?”

His visit to Junagadh, Modi addressed the public saying that nine projects will be dedicated or the foundation stone shall be laid. The projects are worth Rs 500 crores.

He also added the water supply foundation laid in Valsad will be taken note of the whole country once completed, and a new civic hospital and medical hospital will prove to be a life-line for the people of Junagadh.

Later evening, Modi at the fourth convocation of the Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar. PM remarked – “It is important that criminals realise that they will be caught. The surety of punishment will strengthen the judicial system.”

Modi spoke about how the university can help reduce the rate of cyber-crime. He ended his day long tour by attending a meeting at the Somnath Temple Trust at Gandhinagar.
