CM V Narayanasamy violating the model code of conduct: AIADMK

Puducherry | AIADMK has accused Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy of violating the model code of conduct and misusing the state funds, by writing a letter to Chief Election Commissioner.

The letter states that the Chief Minister had been disbursing cash payments and freebies from the Chief Minister Relief Fund to his own party members.

The model code of conduct came into force on Sunday after the Election Commission of India Sunil Arora announced that Lok Sabha polls would be held in the Union territory on April 18.

The letter alleges that all the letters have been pre-dated even though there are no sufficient funds in the account, banks have been instructed not to clear the payments until adequate funds are credited, and to release them as and when they are re-filled.

AIADMK added that all of these transactions would be invisible to the naked eye, thus, the Minister’s actions would be overlooked.

It asked the Election Commission to “intervene” and stop all the payments and transfer of funds from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund until the Lok Sabha elections in Puducherry are completed.
