Ajit Pawar resigns as deputy CM, will Devendra Fadnavis too?

According to the sources, it is been said that top NCP leaders forced Ajit Pawar to resign from the post and come to the party

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who stunned the NCP by engineering an alliance and a midnight coup with the BJP which saw Devendra Fadnavis return to power, has reportedly resigned just a day before the floor test ordered by the Supreme Court, local media reports said. Fadnavis is slated to address the media at 3.30 pm when the announcement is likely to be made official. The development comes as a setback to the BJP, which was confident of winning the floor test on Wednesday.

Earlier today, the Supreme Court ordered that the Maharashtra floor test be held within 24 hours tomorrow which will be conducted through the open ballot and will be telecast live. The top court said the floor test will be conducted by the protem speaker after the members take an oath by 5 pm tomorrow.

Ajit Pawar resigns as Deputy Chief Minister just three days after he was sworn-in in a drastic move. On Saturday morning, Devendra Fadnavis was sworn-in as the Maharashtra Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar as his deputy after the latter led a faction of NCP to unite with the BJP and form the government in Maharashtra.

According to the sources, it is been said that top NCP leaders forced Ajit Pawar to resign from the post and come to the party.
